EAD is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for projects in industrial and processing facilities. Mechanical Engineer needed for utilities design and systems evaluation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Play a leading role in process scope definition and design with primary responsibilities of HVAC, plumbing, steam/condensate, natural gas, compressed air, chilled water, domestic water, high pressure water, clean in place and associated piping systems design per client requirements.
- Make independent decisions on mechanical engineering problems and methods and serve as the Technical Specialist for EAD in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes for mechanical engineering of utility systems.
- Identify and develop energy and water conservation projects for clients as required.
- Lead utility program design, development, implementation and evaluation for clients as required.
- Work closely with internal and external project managers, project engineers and other staff to develop engineering opinions, design recommendations, technical reports, and design documents such as plans, specification, and construction cost estimates/schedules.
- Lead projects requiring support staff under his/her direction and be responsible for budget and schedule for the mechanical scope of work of projects.
- Perform and document technical design reviews with other disciplines on the project team to produce the highest level of quality.
- Interface with clients, utility companies, construction administrators, and vendors.
- Direct designers and drafters in detailed designs.
- Provide Professional Engineering approval of work performed under direct supervision.
- Review design drawings to determine utility energy use, provide design recommendations, and calculate energy savings.
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that equipment is installed and functioning according to specifications.
- Solicit new business and provide technical customer service.
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering from an accredited college.
- Minimum of 15 years of closely related professional engineering experience, 10+ of which at the Senior Engineer level.
- 5+ years as Lead Mechanical Engineer for major projects.
- Professional Engineering Licensure or desire to obtain.
- LEED Certification or desire to obtain.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients and in-house support staff.
- AutoCAD skills.
- Experience with MS Windows based operating systems and applications.
- Knowledge of building and energy codes.
