Position Description
Now seeking a Manufacturing Manager who is proactive and strategic to provide leadership to the production team. A manager who will coordinate all of the manufacturing processes associated with on time delivery of a quality product at a cost competitive price. This manager will: plan and direct production activities; develop, maintain and enforce company operating procedures and standards, (i.e. ISO 9001/14000); identify, recommend and develop strategies for cost reduction; and review non-conformance’s to determine root cause and corrective action. This person will need to be a team player who can interface with engineering, project management and quality departments to improve output, efficiency and quality of products. This person will be responsible for: personnel actions; coaching and motivation; and directing the team to meet quality and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will: have a college degree in management or engineering plus 5 yrs. progressive management experience; 5+ years manufacturing experience in a steel processing/fabrication plant environment; be a strategic and tactical thinker, with demonstrated initiative; be comfortable with shifting priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment; and have strong organizational, leadership, analytic and interpersonal skills. Experience with 6 Sigma, Kaizan, and lean manufacturing initiatives are also an asset.
