Position Summary

 

We are looking for a programmer/analyst who can convert and process data for customer mailing and fulfillment projects; this includes processing data files according to detailed and specific requirements provided by our clients and our internal Account Managers. It also includes evaluating the project requirements and determining the best possible path to follow.  Candidates should be able to perform a wide variety of data manipulations in order to create all the varied and necessary outputs. A background in direct marketing computer processing, including knowledge of file conversion, merge/purge and postal presorting is a plus. We are looking for team players who are customer-oriented, able to multi-task, and possess strong communication and organization skills.

  

Successful candidate will possess the following

 

  • Must have basic application and advanced database knowledge.

 

  • Experience interfacing with internal customers including Account Management and Production staff.

 

  • Ability to follow job instructions, flow-chart job steps, adhere to all quality control procedures, generate detailed custom reports, and ensure that all deadlines are met.

 

  • Ability to develop standard file processing routines.

 

  • High attention to detail, be self-motivated, be able to multi-task, and practice strong organizational skills.

 

  • Ability to maintain positive, professional demeanor at all times.

 

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

 

  • Ability to consult with Account Managers and clients to receive/discuss project specifications and to insure work meets with clients expectations.

 

  • Must be available to work some flexible hours to satisfy client and production demands.

 

  • Basic Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

 

 

Preferred Education/Experience

 

  •     Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  •     1+ yrs experience in direct mail data programming
  •     Course work or practical exposure to databases such as Access, FoxPro, SQL.
  •     Course work or practical exposure to a structured programming language such as Java,  PHP, etc.
