Position Description
HDR has been recognized as a national leader and award-winning design firm for major Justice Facilities. We have several federal, state, county and municipal government clients since our founding in 1917.
The Project Manager Civic responsibility is to function as a project manager for civic projects (courts, jails, prisons, municipal buildings, federal work, etc.).
Involved in business development, managing contracts, clients and the project team. Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multi-discipline projects or medium sized projects with high degree of technical complexity. Involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently. Establish client relations and involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, Project Architects and other disciplines. Responsible to coordinate workload with project team through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule. Work with the Controller and Principal/Business Unit Director for project reviews. Responsible for execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plans.

- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture.
- Must be a Registered Architect.
- Must have 5+ years of recent experience in justice related projects.
- Must be able to lead a team on projects.
Large project experience is preferred.
- Good interpersonal, planning and mentoring skills.
- Computer literate with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
