Basic Function

This position will oversee the management of the company records to increase employee efficiency, lower company cost, and lower company downside risk.  This position requires an individual to roll up their sleeves and contribute while leading the records management function within the organization.

Scope

The Records Information Manager will serve as the primary point of contact, Kiewit’s records management lead, and will report to the Information Management Department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Oversee a committee to determine a process for records management at all levels within the organization to improve the retrieval of information.

·         Implement and streamline a system to determine what information is stored where, how the information is retrieved on demand and the opportunity to run reports from this information.

·         Train and supervise employees regarding processes, technology, record assessments and inventories.

·         Produce, provide and update detailed training materials of the workflows and manuals for all current and proposed operations.

·         Solicit, review and recommend process revisions based on program assessments and best practices.

·         Conduct company audits to determine if the records management processes are being followed and the company is in compliance.

·         Resolve problems with information management by effective use of software and other information management resources.

·         Capture information for taxing purposes and legal authorities within the company.

·         Ensure records management communicates effectively with business peers.

 

Qualifications

 

·         A proficient user of technology including use of personal computers, desktop or electronic publishing systems, scanners and other electronic communications equipment.

·         General knowledge of statutory, regulatory and other legal requirements for records management.

·         Demonstrated initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while still maintaining high quality standards.

·         Proven effective communicator at all levels.

·         Leader with outstanding interpersonal, communication and leadership skills; ability to motivate people and manage resources effectively and work with business partners to achieve goals in aggressive timelines.

·         Business acumen, knowledge, professionalism – understand all aspects of how a business operates, able to develop and articulate the value proposition of a new process or program.

·         Ability to clearly communicate and deliver expectations.

·         Trusted advisor to management throughout the organization.

·         A problem solver; an individual that can quickly assess a situation from multiple dimensions, understand and integrate competing needs and develop creative solutions.

·         Strong builder of teams and trusted relationships.

·         Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.

·         A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive applicable experience in records management and related records management technologies.
