Position Description
This Position is a Three (3) Year Project
POSITION PURPOSE:
The highest information technology project management position that plans,
organizes, integrates, and implements enterprise information technology projects of
significant scope and impact to deliver specific measured results to the customer.
Coordinates the work of technical, clinical, and administrative personnel across other
functions and disciplines. Works with Information Technology personnel, administrative
personnel, vendors, customers, and stakeholders to ensure all critical project factors are
managed, implemented, tracked and reported. Coordinates multiple related projects directed
toward a common objective. Determines and coordinates the sharing of resources among the
related projects within the program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or business related field required.
Minimum 5 years of Information Technology experience required.
Minimum 3 years of formal Project Management experience required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PGMP)
certification required. Specifically the ability to understand the "big picture", generate
and track to a project plan, communicate with stakeholders and lead subject matter experts
to implement the product (5-10 years experience)
Leadership of large, diverse project teams charged with implementation of Clinical
Information Systems (EMP Implementation experience). Specifically this individual must have
experience working with physicians, nursing, hospital administration, and other hospital
groups.
Healthcare experience and a general understanding of healthcare business functions preferred
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required
Knowledge of technology applications and processes
Ability to synthesize project information and establish the appropriate scope of a project
Ability to apply strong project/program management skills and methodologies
Skill in technical planning of information technology projects
Skill in work process analysis, development, and implementation incorporating technology
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with technical, non-technical and
executive personnel orally and in writing
Strong mentoring skills required
Experience with Implementing CPOE in a hospital environment preferred
GE Centricity Enterprise Implementation experience including Gemini or Enterprise Orders
preferred
